REACH Compliance and Product Safety

100 million people around the world live on our floor, 500 million patients heal every day on our floors. The health and safety of our users is a paramount concern.

REACH is an European regulation that lists the chemicals having or suspected of having an impact on human health. We guarantee that our rules are more stringent than the regulation : our products contain no substances from the candidate list (SVHC), nor those subject to restriction (Annex XVII) or authorisation (Annex XIV) for building use.

Since 2022, we document our product sustainability credentials with a one-page summary : Gerflor environmental datasheets (available on our website).


We also provide EPDs on more than 50 products. EPDs include more than thirty planet and health indicators.

Inclusive floors for individuals with neurocognitive disorders

Gerflor offers more than 70 designs validated and accredited by the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC).

Taraflex®: greater comfort, greater safety

In 2025, Gerflor conducted a study in collaboration with the Interuniversity Laboratory of Motor Biology, which showed that Taraflex® flooring significantly reduces impacts and vibrations, increasing comfort and safety for children, women and teenagers.

GTI ergonomy

Less noise, more comfort

GTI® tiles significantly reduce noise pollution: up to -8 dB for road noise, -4 dB for impact noise and -17 dB for footfall noise (compared with hard flooring, internal study).
