We believe it is urgent to close the loop and rethink usage to limit waste. Our floors and walls are designed to accelerate the transition toward a circular economy model - easy to remove, reuse and recycle.

The Second Life Program, our collection system in more than 10 countries

Launched in 2011, this scheme is free for installation companies and distributors and is tailored to their requirements. It also accepts competitors' flooring.

Once collected, the products are directed to one of our two recycling centres.

The secondary raw material obtained is then transported to Gerflor factories to be incorporated into new products.

Collection systems were available in 2024 in more than 10 countries.

Close to 60,000 tons of waste treated in our factories and recycling centers

Since 1960 our factories are true recycling centers. We recycle more than 80% of our production waste and are working towards “zero waste” factories.

Installation waste and end-of-life products collected through the second life program are directed to one of our two dedicated recycling centers based in France and Germany.

The recyclate obtained is then sent back to Geflor factories to be incorporated into new Gerflor products.

We believe that looselay solutions embody the future of floor coverings

Since 2000, Gerflor has pioneered adhesive-free installation with patented textile-backed looselay vinyl rolls and click-system planks made in France.

These solutions enhance indoor air quality, speed up installation, and simplify reuse or recycling.

Today, over 30 looselay ranges—including rolls, tiles, and planks—represent 40% of our sales.

The program is active in France, Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia, and several pilot countries. Gerflor participates to industry initiatives in Sweden and Australia.

For over 20 years, Gerflor has provided looselay solutions for housing in planks and rolls. This innovation now extends to heavy-traffic areas, with products like Taralay Impression Hop and Tarasafe Hop.
